Crystal Jade's La Mian Xiao Long Bao ........... Shark's Bone Soup with Fried Rice

HY always would like to eat the hand made ramen at Crystal Jade's La Mian Xiao Long Bao. To be honest to everyone, I'm quite over the ramen from Crystal Jade. Their ramen taste good. It's just that I had it too many times. HY's still loyal to their ramen though.

In order to avoid ordering their ramen, I'll try something else and was in for a surprise. This time round I wanted to order their fried rice and was expecting something conventional.

Just look at the Shark's Bone Soup Fried Rice (S$7.50) below that I ordered. Here's the bowl of shark's bone soup and the accompanying "fried" rice. In this dish, the rice was dried and then deep fried in oil, resulting in a cereal like texture.

The "fried" rice is poured into the soup and then eaten like cereal or porridge. The soup is boiled using shark's bone. Chicken, shrimp and vegetable is added to taste. It taste really good!

I've eaten this dish at the Holland Village branch. It should be a standard dish for all the Crystal Jade's La Mian Xiao Long Bao outlets.

Address : 241/241A Holland Avenue (see website for other outlets)

Country : Singapore
