Canton-i ........ X.O. Carrot Cake is a Delight.

Don't you just love Canton-i for the bird cages if not for their food? Last Friday evening, I was tasked to suggest a dinner venue in Ion Orchard. Some criteria, 'no ang mo food', 'need space for Vic', 'table must be big enough that Vic will not swipe any 'hazardous' objects within reach of her little hands', 'need something light'. Some feedbacks 'Taste p#@#dise standard drop liao', 'Ginza B#$%rain long queue and no reservations', 'Imperial Trea#$%e Kitchen very cramp', ' Don't want ramen'.

It's already not easy being an organiser to satisfy a 4+1 sets of wimps and fancies. I can't imagine folks with jobs that needs to satisfy millions of people. Job Requisites : Need to be 'blind', 'deaf' and 'dumb' when the situation arise to 'satisfy' customers. These people better be earning hell lot of money.

After meeting all the needs, it seems like Canton-i is the only restaurant that can satisfy us. Each of us ordered a bowl of congee or noodles. I did mention about their congee sometime ago.

XO Fried Carrot Cake
Canton-i's XO Fried Carrot Cake is a popular dish. XO sauce always taste great but what made it for me was the little bits of 'lap cheong', Chinese sausages that was mixed and pan fried with the carrot cake. I kept on picking at these little bits left on the plate even after we finish the cake.

How can we miss the roast pork and char siew. They were good but I think the one prepared by the Imperial Treasure Restaurant at Great World City 'win by only a horse nose'.

Some hits and misses at this place, and I wished the price was about 20% lower.

I do agree with you, Ban Ban. Alot of mixed reactions about Canton-i even within my family. :)
